Sandra Messenger Owner/Physiotherapist
Sandra graduated from Dalhousie University with her BScPT in 1997 and started working at the clinic immediately afterwards. In 1998, Sandra took over management of the clinic while continuing to work as a physiotherapist.
Through her many years of post graduate studies, Sandra has enjoyed using auricular acupuncture, scalp acupuncture and Myofasical Release in her clinical practice. She is also certified by the Acupuncture Canada.
When not wearing a "physio" or "manager's" hat, she can be found outside hiking, kayaking, playing with her dogs or chickens and digging in her garden.
Michelle Kim Physiotherapist BScPT, CAFCI
Michelle started her career as a physiotherapist at Bedford-Sackville Physiotherapy Clinic immediately after graduating Dalhousie University in 2001 with her BSc in physiotherapy.
Since graduation Michelle has invested many hours in studying manual therapy, auricular acupuncture, myofascial release, Functional Dry Needling and Pilates. She has also been certified by Acupuncture Canada.
Ibrahim Alkhatib Physiotherapist
Ibrahim is a graduate of the Dalhousie School of Physiotherapy Class of 2023. He was born in Syria, immigrated to Canada at the age of 5 and speaks both Arabic and English. Ibrahim believes in an active lifestyle, enjoys spending time out doors and has his brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. He brings a positive enthusiasm into his client care.
Salam Elborno Physiotherapist
Salam is a 2020 graduate from the School of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University who has returned to her home here after working in private practice in NewBrunswick. She offers physiotherapy services in both English and Arabic.
Heather Boudreau Occupational Therapist
Heather graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1997 with her BSc in Occupational Therapy after graduating from Dalhousie University in 1995 with a BSc in Kinesiology.
She is an excellent support to our clients as they work to return to there regular activities. Heather has extensive experience with the Progressive Goal Attainment Program, assessing functional capacity (Matheson) and works with concussion management.
After working all day, Heather enjoys relaxing with a good book and spending time with her family.
Roy Angel RMT
Roy is a local fellow who graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2016. He integrates fascial work and joint mobilizations along with home care to assist in his treatment and has an excited passion for his work.
He is passionate about continual learning, volunteers his time to his community and is a song writer and musician.
Terri Lynn McAllister RMT
Terri Lynn is a 2014 graduate of ICT Northumberland College in Halifax.
Sarah Douglas RMT
Sarah graduated from Eastern College as a massage therapist in 2018 and has worked in private practice since. She joined us in 2021 and has a passion for learning and staying active.
Emily Cook RMT/ Acupuncturist
Emily joined our team in 2022 primarily as a massage therapist, but brings with her skills as a certified Acupuncturist as well. She graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2016 and the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine with her Diploma in Acupuncture in 2021.
Over the years she has treated a multitude of conditions such as chronic pain, concussion, whiplash, sport injuries, orthopeadic issues in pregnancy, women's health and has a strong interest in treating neurological conditions and post operative care. Her skills include Indian Head Massage, cupping, lower body neuro fascial reset and guasha techniques.
Jeremy Sprague Registered Massage Therapist
Jeremy was born and rasied in Lower Sackville and is a graduate from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. He is certified in cupping and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. Jeremy also has a keen interest in helping people with respiratory issues like C.O.P.D. and asthma, trades people and people suffering from chronic stress. With general Swedish massage, myofascial reliease and low impact joint mobilizations, he has hands that can help!
On his days off, Jeremy enjoys photography, cycling, weight lifting, kayaking and hiking. He lives in Lower Sackville with his wife.
Oshani Rajapakse Physiotherapy Assistant
Oshani moved to the Maritimes to join her family after graduating from the Southern Alberta University of Technology in 2021 with her Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant degree. She will greet you with a smile and help make sure your experience with us is a positive one.
Tina Clarke Office Manager
Tina became a part of the Bedford-Sackville Physiotherapy Clinic team in 1998. She is responsible for office duties such as billing, booking appointments and can answer any questions you may have.
When not working, Tina enjoys relaxing outdoors and gardening on warm days.
Tarina Pittman Reception
Tarina brings many years of experience in providing excellent customer care and office management. She is always eager to assist our clients with a smile and is the perfect match for Tina.
When Tarina is not working hard she is planning her next trip to her trailor.
