Sandra Messenger  Owner, BSc(Physiotherapy), Certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute

Sandra graduated from Dalhousie University with her BScPT in 1997 and started working at Bedford-Sackville Physiotherapy Clinic the next Monday.  She became owner and took over management in late 1998 and loves working with our amazing team.  Sandra enjoys learning new therapy tools for her "tool box" and is very interested in acupuncture.  When not wearing a "physio" or "manager's" hat, she can be found outside walking, hiking or digging in her garden.

Michelle Kim  BSc(Physiotherapy), Certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute

Michelle began her career as a physiotherapist at Bedford-Sackville Physiotherapy Clinic immediately after graduating from Dalhousie University in 2001.  Between the new additions to her family, which now include three beautiful children and a Lab, she has worked part time with us and has invested many hours in studying acupuncture, manual therapy, kinesiotaping and muscle imbalances.

Paula Calnen  BSc, BSc(Physiotherapy), ClMScPT(Manipulation), Certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute

Paula has been part of the Bedford Sackville Physiotherapy team since she graduated from Queen’s University with her physiotherapy degree in 2002.  Since graduation she has successfully completed her Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute examinations (CAFCI), studied McKenzie, Sahrmann and Kinetic Control assessment and techniques along with other advanced orthopedic courses, and kinesiotaping.  Interests in manual therapy in orthopedics lead her to further her skills in manual therapy and manipulation. In 2008 she graduated from Western University with a Clinical Masters in Manual Therapy and Manipulation in Physiotherapy and completed the certification exams to become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual Therapists.  Currently she divides her time between the working full time at the clinic and assisting in the orthopedic stream at Dalhousie University Physiotherapy Masters program.

Alicia Broughm BSc(Physiotherapy)

Alicia is a 1991 graduate from the Physiotherapy program at Dalhousie University.  She joined our team in 2004 with a wealth of manual therapy, TMJ, muscle imbalance correction and management experience.  She is a gym work out addict, has a flare for ball room dancing and thinks she should have been a crow as she loves anything that's shiney and pretty.

Heather Richard  BSc(Kinesiology), BSc(Occupational Therapy)

Heather graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1997 with a BSc in Occupational Therapy, following a BSc in Kinesiology at Dalhousie (1995).  Over the past 11 years she has trained in Matheson, KEY,  and ARCON Functional Capacity Evaluations and has taken numerous courses on ergonomics, whiplash and back injuries, repetitive strain injuries, managing chronic pain, developing return to work programs and completed the Progressive Goal Attainment Program.  Heather is a fitness "junkie".  She enjoys eating nutritiously, running, hiking, working out at the gym, kayaking and swimming.

 Rhonda Flemming  RMT

Rhonda graduated in 2002 with her Massage Therapy Diploma from the Canadian College of Natural Medicine.  She joined our team in 2004 to fill in for a colleague and we were fortunate to have her stay!  Her talent doesn't end with massage; she has a gift for catering which we frequently get to witness and enjoy at our group gatherings.

 Jodi Bowden  RMT

Jodi came to us in 2007 right after graduating with high honors from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Bedford.  She is passionate about massage but also bends over backwards as a gymnastics coach with Taiso Gymnastics.

 Lori Breakspear  RMT

Lori has used her wonderful massage skills for the clients of Bedford-Sackville Physiotherapy Clinic since 2002 when she graduated from the Canadian College of Natural Medicine.  Being a massage therapist is actually her second identity as Lori is a full time elementary school teacher through the day.

 Kielly Christie  RMT

Kielly has been a cheerful and talented addition to our team first to help us cover some staff leaves and  fortunately now on a permanent basis. She graduated in 2007 with honors from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy.

 Tina Clarke, Office Manager

Tina has helped to keep the clinic running since 1998 and we don't know what we would do without her.  You'll recognize her by her witchy giggle.  She's the "go to girl" for all your billing questions.

 Helen Jackson, Reception

Helen comes from a history of office administration of many sorts.  She completed her 1st year of her BA at Mount St. Vincent University and has taken many courses of interest throughout the years, including a 2 year Computerized Business Applications Diploma from Compu College in Vancouver in 2000.  Helen has a general love of people, dollar stores and keeping the candy bowl filled at all times.  She feels sharing sweets always brings a smile to our clients....and staff!

 Jackie Hayes, Physiotherapy Aide

Jackie completed her Physiotherapy Aide course work from Stratford Career College and has been an integral part of our team since the fall of 2005.  She walks everywhere she goes but if you see her, she may not notice you.  She wants to assure everyone it is not personal, she just has music playing in her ears.

Renaye Quinn,  Physiotherapy Aide

Renaye is a graduating Sackville High student who has worked with us as a physiotherapy aid for the last two years.  She's excited to be heading off to university this year.

Paulette d'Entremont, Patient Representative and Communications Officer

Paulette comes to us with an extensive administrative support background in both the public and private sectors. She worked with the Nova Scotia Department of Education, Industrial Estates Ltd, the Nova Scotia Department of Economic Development, Sabroe Canada and the Department of Justice.  Currently, she is wokring part time at Hiltz Taekwon-Do in Lower Sackville.  Paulette beleives in physcial activity as a path to maintained wellness so watch her on local byways as she walks, runs and bikes.  You can catch sight of her contorting at Hiltz Taekwon-Do as she trains for her second degree black belt.  She is also proud to have completed a full set of Taoist Tai Chi and continues that pursuit

Kassandra Power, Communications Officer

Kass joined the team in 2009 and while she usually works behind the scenes as our medical transcriptionist, her friendly smile can occasionally be seen as she helps out at the front desk.
