Sandra Messenger Owner, BSc(Physiotherapy), Certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute
Sandra graduated from Dalhousie University with her BScPT in 1997 and startedworking at Bedford-Sackville Physiotherapy Clinic the next Monday. She became owner and took over management in late 1998 and loves working with our amazing team. Sandra enjoys learning new therapy tools for her "tool box" and is very interested in acupuncture. When not wearing a "physio" or "manager's" hat, she can be found outside walking, hiking or digging in her garden.
Michelle Kim BSc(Physiotherapy), Certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute
| Michelle began her career as a physiotherapist at Bedford-Sackville Physiotherapy Clinic immediately after graduating from Dalhousie University in 2001. Between the new additions to her family, which now include three beautiful children and a Lab, she has worked part time with us and has invested many hours in studying acupuncture, manual therapy, kinesiotaping and muscle imbalances. |
Paula Calnen BSc, BSc(Physiotherapy), ClMScPT(Manipulation), Certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute
| Paula has been part of the Bedford Sackville Physiotherapy team since she graduated from Queen’s University with her physiotherapy degree in 2002. Since graduation she has successfully completed her Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute examinations (CAFCI), studied McKenzie, Sahrmann and Kinetic Control assessment and techniques along with other advanced orthopedic courses, and kinesiotaping. Interests in manual therapy in orthopedics lead her to further her skills in manual therapy and manipulation. In 2008 she graduated from Western University with a Clinical Masters in Manual Therapy and Manipulation in Physiotherapy and completed the certification exams to become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual Therapists. Currently she divides her time between the working full time at the clinic and assisting in the orthopedic stream at Dalhousie University Physiotherapy Masters program. |
Jennifer MacKinnon BSc(Physiotherapy)

Jenn joined us in 2011 after working in New Brunswick, British Columbia and Truro, Nova Scotia since her graduation from Dalhousie Univeristy in 2006. Jen has pursued many post-graduate courses to expand her knowledge and skill-set with a particular focus on the McKenzie method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment. Outside of work she loves to be active in the outdoors: hiking, camping, kayaking, biking and skiing; and enjoys practicing yoga. |
Kathleen O'Reilly MSc(Physiotherapy)

Kathleen joined us in 2011 after working in Guelph, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Toronto in 2009 with her MScPT and prior to that attended the University of Western Ontario where she played varsity hockey while completing her BMSc degree in Medical Biophysics. Kathleen has a keen interest in orthopedics and has taken several post-graduate courses to further her skill set. When she’s not at work Kathleen might be found sharing time with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors or curled up with a good book. |
Heather Richard BSc(Kinesiology), BSc(Occupational Therapy)

Heather graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1997 with a BSc in Occupational Therapy, following a BSc in Kinesiology at Dalhousie (1995). Over the past 11 years she has trained in Matheson, KEY, and ARCON Functional Capacity Evaluations and has taken numerous courses on ergonomics, whiplash and back injuries, repetitive strain injuries, managing chronic pain, developing return to work programs and completed the Progressive Goal Attainment Program. Heather is a fitness "junkie". She enjoys eating nutritiously, running, hiking, working out at the gym, kayaking and swimming. |
Rhonda Flemming RMT
| Rhonda graduated in 2002 with her Massage Therapy Diploma from the Canadian College of Natural Medicine. She joined our team in 2004 to fill in for a colleague and we were fortunate to have her stay! Her talent doesn't end with massage; she has a gift for catering which we frequently get to witness and enjoy at our group gatherings. |
Jodi Bowden RMT
| Jodi came to us in 2007 right after graduating with high honors from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Bedford. She is passionate about massage but also bends over backwards as a gymnastics coach with Taiso Gymnastics. |
Lori Breakspear RMT
| Lori has used her wonderful massage skills for the clients of Bedford-Sackville Physiotherapy Clinic since 2002 when she graduated from the Canadian College of Natural Medicine. Being a massage therapist is actually her second identity as Lori is a full time elementary school teacher through the day. |
Kielly Christie RMT
| Kielly has been a cheerful and talented addition to our team first to help us cover some staff leaves and fortunately now on a permanent basis. She graduated in 2007 with honors from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. |
Tina Clarke, Office Manager
| Tina has helped to keep the clinic running since 1998 and we don't know what we would do without her. You'll recognize her by her witchy giggle. She's the "go to girl" for all your billing questions. |
Kassandra Power, Reception

Kass joined the team in 2009 starting out behind the scenes as our medical transcriptionist. Her friendly smile can now be seen at the front desk where she has taken over as a receptionist. |
Jackie Hayes, Physiotherapy Aide
| Jackie completed her Physiotherapy Aide course work from Stratford Career College and has been an integral part of our team since the fall of 2005. She walks everywhere she goes but if you see her, she may not notice you. She wants to assure everyone it is not personal, she just has music playing in her ears. |
